What are acceptable forms of identification?
North Carolina law requires a current unexpired document issued by a federal, state, or federal or state-recognized tribal, government agency bearing the photographic image of the individual’s face and either the signature or a physical description of the individual.
Accepted IDs: North Carolina Drivers License, Out of State Drivers License, Passport, Retired & Dependent Military ID, Legal Presence Card
Unacceptable IDs: Any Expired ID, Temporary Drivers License, Active Duty Military ID, Matricula Consular Card, Bank Card, Social Security Card, Passport Card
Can you notarize a vehicle title without the buyer present?
Yes. NC DMV does not require the purchaser’s signature to be notarized, though the buyer’s information must be completely filled out.
If my document doesn’t have notarial wording, will Mint Hill Mobile Notary provide it for me?
Mint Hill Mobile Notary LLC carries a variety of standard certificates provided by the Secretary of State’s office, of which you may select one and use with your document.
